While many of us are concerned about keeping our immune systems revved up during the spread of Coronavirus, stockpiling vitamins and supplements is not the solution. While your friends and family may be convinced that supplements boosting vitamins C and D will help prevent contracting COVID-19, Harvard microbiologist Michael Starnbach says, “There’s no evidence that they help in fighting disease.”

It’s better to focus on practicing good hygiene rather than loading up on vitamins and supplements, many of which are not regulated by the FDA for their intended purpose. Taking too many of them may even overstimulate your immune system, leading to an auto-immune disorder.
